Creating an app from the ground up has been an obsession of mine for some time now. For my first foray into the world I wanted to make something that wasn’t defined as the next ‘Uber for babysitters’ or ‘Postmates but for vinyl’. With that in mind my idea was to enhance pre-existing user experiences within social media. WAAV, Web Audio and Video, is a simple video and audio editor that allows the user to create their own 15 — 30 second videos or trailers for their lives and experiences. It allows you to film or upload video into the app and then add audio from your iTunes library or Voice Memos. From there the user can trim, fade, cut/mix audio, etc within the editor before finally uploading to their social media platform of choice.

 

For the identity I wanted to focus on the audio aspect of the app as it is the key to its experience. The design is meant to mimic the visual soundwave of an

audio file.

For the animation of the logo I wrote and recorded a jingle to enhance the experience of the

waav forming.
